Now I present here in front of you as a newly-graduated CNA with the hopes of really immersing myself in the hospital environment as an integral part of the team. I've volunteered over 200 hours in the Med/Surg dept at Loma Linda, and I worked for 6 months in the ER There as a medical scribe. Since moving to CA, I've worked at a diabetic specialty clinic as a medical assistant. In all of these jobs, my customer service was measured by a monetary value, and not for the sake of helping people, and this is why i decided it was time for a career change. Most interviews will include questions about your personality, qualifications, experience and how well you would fit the job. To go over my experiences briefly, I worked as a Supervisor at Starbucks for 5 years, I worked as a server in a restaurant called Boiling Crab for 2.5 years, I've worked as a cocktail server at a busy casino on the strip, and I've also worked for 1 year at a Fortune 500 company called . Working in the Emergency Department as a scribe will give me invaluable medical experience. But before that, I'd always worked in customer service. The medical scribe can also help by taking time looking at medical records and entering data. At my internship (mention being self motivated because you worked independently) I was faced with learning how to operate fluently through multiple different programs such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel in a short amount of time. Since making that decision, I've been taking science prerequisite courses at SCU and have been trying to immerse myself in the field. How does a medical scribe help a physician The medical scribe helps by taking on the clerical duties, leaving more time for the doctor to care for patients. I also believe I would make a good scribe because of my background working in the finance department. I graduated from UNLV in Las Vegas, NV with a bachelor's degree in English in 2012, and moved to California in 2014 after deciding I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare.
